It's been a minute but we're so excited to be able to invite you to join us  for the in-person return of TechBeach Retreat from October 27-28, 2022. The premier event for innovation, entrepreneurship and investment connecting Latin America, the Caribbean and North America is back and our first stop will be none other than the world famous Miami Beach.

This meeting of the minds aims to amplify investment and partnership surrounding how technology, digital solutions, and new business models can drive economic growth and integration across the aforementioned regions. As such, we're creating an agenda built around some of the greatest minds in global tech. 
 

This year's speakers include: 

Nneka Ukpai

Nneka Ukpai is the Head of Financial Innovation at Better, where she advises the tech unicorn on business and legal strategy, new products, and financial inclusion. Nneka also built the Better Opportunity Fund, Better's nonprofit arm focused on closing the racial wealth gap, and Better Labs, a hybrid startup studio and venture firm.

Prior to Better, Nneka was a Senior Associate at Paul Hastings where she specialized in defending large corporations, boards, and individual members of the C-suite in multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions. When Nneka is not lawyering, she is a 2x tech founder, angel investor, and advisor to startups and venture capital firms.

Nneka is a proud graduate of Howard University and Harvard Law School, where she currently serves on the distinguished teaching faculty of Harvard’s Trial Advocacy Workshop. Nneka also serves on the Board of Trussle Lab Ltd, London's largest digital mortgage broker, and on the Advisory Boards of Brex, Boundary Street Capital, and Arara.io. 

Jeff Hoffman

Jeff Hoffman is an award-winning global entrepreneur, proven CEO, worldwide motivational speaker,  bestselling author, Hollywood film producer, a producer of a Grammy Award winning jazz album, and executive producer of an Emmy Award winning television show. He is an Executive Producer and stars in  the groundbreaking new TV series GOING PUBLIC, a show where viewers worldwide can invest in the  startups that Jeff is mentoring on the air. In his career, he has been the founder of multiple startups, he  has been the CEO of both public and private companies, and he has served as a senior executive in many  capacities. Jeff has been part of a number of well-known successful startups, including  Priceline.com/Booking.com, uBid.com and more.

 

Jeff is the Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, which works with entrepreneurs in 190 countries, as well as being a founding board member of The Unreasonable Group, whose 289 portfolio companies have raised $6.6 billion in funding and have positively impacted more than 720 million lives  worldwide. He is also on the Advisory Board of CEED Global, the Centers for Entrepreneurship and  Executive Development, teaching entrepreneurship globally in developing countries. Jeff has supported the White House, the State Department, the United Nations, and similar organizations internationally on  economic growth initiatives and entrepreneurship programs.

Jeff is the Managing Partner of Jeff Hoffman Advisory Services, a strategic consulting firm that teaches  exponential growth to business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as teaching innovation strategies to  corporations and governments worldwide. Jeff serves on the boards of companies in the US, Europe, the  Middle East, South America, Africa, and Asia. He supports entrepreneurs and small businesses on a  worldwide basis. Jeff is also the founder and CEO of World Youth Horizons, a non-profit organization  providing homes, schools, food, and health care to children in need around the globe.

Jon Oringer is the founder and executive chairman of Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK), a leading global creative platform offering full-service solutions, high-quality content, and tools for brands, businesses and media companies. Jon founded Shutterstock in 2003 and grew it into the global, multibillion-dollar business it is today. Shutterstock has offices around the world, over 1.6 million contributors worldwide and more than 2 million active customers from more than 150 countries. Jon served as CEO of Shutterstock from its founding until 2020 when he decided to become Shutterstock’s Executive Chairman. This shift in responsibilities enables Jon to spend half of his time as Executive Chairman of Shutterstock and the other half focusing on his newest entrepreneurial endeavor: Pareto Holdings. Pareto Holdings is an investment firm Jon and his partner Edward Lando created to invest in world-class businesses and to nurture the development of Miami’s growing tech scene.

Edward Lando is the Co-Founder and a Managing Partner of Pareto Holdings, an early-stage investment vehicle he started with his business partner Jon Oringer, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Shutterstock. Edward has been an investor in over 500 early stage companies. He was the first investor in Misfits Market and an early angel in over 20 unicorns. He’s also helped start several other companies, including Atom Finance, Goody and more.

Marlon's unique eye for global trends and shifts in consumer behavior has helped him capture many high-potential investments, which include Gimlet Media, MongoDB, Thrive Market, Fair, LISNR, Mayvenn, Blavity, Wonderschool, and other companies that reflect overlooked markets.

Jason Saltzman
